Day 21: Today's find. For the soul.

Subject: Went to the farmers market this morning, of course just to pick fruits for the week. But, as I was walking back to the car, stopped by this small stall that had a sample of a butter rum cake. One bite and I was sold. Just how can a girl resist butter-rum and chocolate-cappuccino mini bundt cakes?

Day 20: Full Circle

Subject: I love the fact that this little tree is showing life full circle. While there is a little of the fall season still showing on this tree, it also shows that spring is not far behind. Wilted and dead  leaves are still falling and the new fresh green baby leaves are already here to take on the new life!

Day 17: Oh Sweetheart!

Subject: Just when I thought I was done with the candy and sweet stuff from Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas, here we go again. I see red everywhere and especially in Target, its extra red. This is just one of the 8 aisles filled with Valentines candy. Oh how can I resist?

Day 16: Where do you want to go this morning?

Subject: My coffee mug set from World Market. Every time I drink coffee in one of these, I wish there was a magical adventure like Harry Potter or Narnia that just transforms me magically into the land of my cup. Sigh. If that had happened, I would have been in Shangai city right now maybe solving the mystery of the stolen Samurai sword. Wait. That's too intense. I might just want to shop around and maybe eat some awesome authentic Chinese food for lunch. More like my kinda adventure. I'll leave it to Tom Cruise find the stolen samurai sword.

Day 15: Mr. Banana says Hi

Subject: Mr. Banana. Actually Mr. Huge Big Banana. My daughter got this as a white elephant gift at a Christmas party we attended recently. I had to take a zoomed out shot just to show how big this banana really is. Its actually as tall as I'am and I'm pretty tall by normal standards. I think I'll need to build a new closet to store this guy!

Day 14: Someone is having a bare bones kinda day

Subject: My Persimmon tree in the backyard. This is how it used to look when the tree was in full bloom with its wonderful fruit. It was amazing to see all the leaves fall off this tree in a hurry as soon as the season was over. Now, I'll have to see this for a couple of more months.

Day 13: These birds don't fly

Subject: Everywhere I turn around these last few days, these beautiful birds of paradise seem to be cropping up on sidewalks and around parking spots. Went out to lunch this afternoon and while walking back to the car, could not help but take a picture of these beautiful birds.

Its the middle of January, still winter, but our good old Southern California is having a 72F, perfect blue sky kind of a day. I can crib all I want about how expensive this place is or just how many health freaks there are here. But when I walk out and see this, there is no other place in the US of A I'd want to be right now.

Day 10: Ice Rink

Place: Anaheim Ice Rink

This rink is the home of the Anaheim Ducks, the Ice Hockey team. The huge wooden panels and beautiful curved structure bring a lot of character to this ice rink. I sit there staring at this while totally freezing my butt off once a week when I take my daughter for her ice skating classes.

Description: Nandu (TH) completed his Half Marathon - 13.1 mi (21 km) today! Instead of buying him flowers, we got him his favorite bagel and met him at the finish line!

Day 3: Hanging on to dear life

Subject: My 'almost done for the season tomato plant'. We were going to clean up the dead plant and get the soil ready for the next cycle. And I see this lonely little new tomato hanging on to dear life. Oh the miracles of nature and life. Just when you think its done, there's more.
